Pearl Marie Sargent

Pearl Marie Sargent, 99 passed away on Sunday March 24, 2024, at Beaver Valley Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. 257 Georgetown Rd. Beaver Falls PA. Born on May 20, 1924, in Beaver Falls, Pa, she was the daughter of Sally West and Wallace Grubbs.

She was a graduate of Beaver Falls High School. She was employed by Monumental Life Insurance Company and Carnegie Public Library. She was Lifelong member of Second Baptist Church where she served in several ministries including the Willing Workers and Sunday as a teacher.

Pearl was preceded in death by her husband Roberts, A. L. Sargent Sr. and leaves to celebrate her life 6 children: Roberts A.L Jr, Concetta Sargent, Quince G. L. Sargent, S. Eugene Sargent, Paul Sargent1(Esther Sargent), Bruce M. Sargent: 6 grandchildren: Ray Berry IV (Donna Berry), Nakeya Sargent, Candace Sargent, Paul Sargent II (Kristel Sargent), Andrea N. Sargent and Cecilia Sargent: 7 great-grandchildren: Nathan Berry, Andre’ Berry, Natasha Berry, R’monni Sargent, Sydney Sargent, Isaiah Miller and Isabella Sargent; 5 great great-grandchildren: Ayden Berry, Xavier Berry, Ezra Berry, Ivy Berry, Ka’Jore Sargent and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and various family.

Pearl will be laid to rest at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, 369 Rt.68, Rochester, PA 15074.

Viewing will be on Friday, March 29th, 2024 from 10am until 11am followed by a Celebration of Life at Second Baptist Church, 2322 10th Avenue, Beaver Falls, PA; Pastor Bernard E. Tench officiating.

Sheila Carter

Sheila Carter 63, born on October 29, 1960 to the late Grover and Blanche Carter Sr., went home to be with her Lord and Savor on Friday, March 15, 2024.

Sheila graduated from New Brighton High School in 1978. After graduating Sheila join the United States Air Force. After serving our Military, she aspired to do many jobs. She worked at Foodland, supermarket in New Brighton, Life Management implementing and managing personal, she was also a licensed Census data collection officer.

Sheila played Basketball while in High School for the Lady Lions. Her love of the game elevated her interest to became a basketball coach for the Beaver Falls girls’ basketball teams. She enjoyed singing and sang with her siblings “The Carter Family”, and sang with many church choirs. She sang her heart out for many funeral services throughout beaver county. She became known as the “Song Bird” by ELKS and WAMO Gospel. Sheila was a kind and loving person; and will be missed by the many who knew her and of her.

Sheila leaves to cherish her memories: Daughter, Alana S. (Wayne) Matthews. Son: Kijafa D. (Ellia) Carter. Grandchildren: Kashius A. (Darnell) Gardener, Amari B. Harris, Kamari, Javen S Matthews and Xavier D. Carter. Greatgrandchildren: Nori Weber, Nylee and Sakai Gardener. Siblings: Gloria C. Stratton, Viola Carter and James Carter. God-Sister: Laura Young, Ida Saffo and God-Brother: Jason Wright. As well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, foster girls, relatives and friends.

Sheila is preceded in death by siblings: Myra C. Burden, Grover Carter Jr.; Loretta C. Jefferson and James (Skip) Carter Sr.

Sheila will be laid to rest in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville PA.

Viewing will be on Friday, March 22, 2024 from 5pm until 7pm. Homegoing service will be on Saturday, March 23, 2024 11am at Washington Funeral Home & Cremations, 1411 6th Avenue, Beaver Falls, PA 15010
