Sherry A. Brooks

Service will be lived streamed on Washington Funeral Home & Cremations Facebook

Sherry A Brooks, 73, went home to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at the Sunshine Cottage Facility surrounded by her son Corey, and family members.

On July 9, 1950, God blessed Charles Jr. and Jean Dawson with a sweet baby girl they named, Sherry Ann Dawson and nick-named her Annie. She lost her fight with Multiple Sclerosis after a 35-year battle but gained her eternal Heavenly wings… winning the war. Sherry was affectionately known as Ma, Annie, Fatty, EE, SA, Auntie, or Ma Dukes.

Sherry lived in Beaver Falls, PA for 62 years before moving to Texas with her sister, Traci, and family. She graduated from Beaver Falls Senior High School in 1969. She had a strong passion for fashion design and enjoyed bowling, always with a high standard of work ethic.

Sherry was funny. She was truly the best mom, daughter, and sister. She worked at Cutler-Hammer (Westinghouse) for 38 ½ years and was medically retired due to health problems in 2011. Although Sherry was diagnosed with MS in 1989, it did not hinder her ability to work, travel, and enjoy life to the fullest.

She leaves to cherish her memories, son, Corey Joe Brooks, mother, Jean Dawson, sister, Traci (Thomas) Allen Sr., and Sister/cousin Harriet (Ladybug) Mickens. Nieces, Crystle (Darnell) Flowers, Robyn Chatman, T’Nisha Chatman, Autumne (Bean) Dawson, Lakisha Allen and LaResa Williams. Special friends, Carol Mason, Peggy Rose, Marian Creach, Karen Tymous, Larry Fitzhugh, and John Barr. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Sherry was greeted at Heavens Gate by her father, Charles M Dawson, Jr. brother, Charles M Dawson III, grandson Corey Jerrell Brooks, nephews, Thomas G Allen Jr. and Anthony Mason. Grandparents, Charles M Dawson Sr. and Franklin (Evelyn) Law

The memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024. Family and friends will be received from 11am until 12pm. Services will be held at Tabernacle Church, 630, 3rd Avenue, Beaver Falls, PA and will start at 12 noon. Service entrusted to Washington Funeral Home & Cremations, 1411 6th Avenue, Beaver Falls, PA.
