With deepest sorrow, we announce that Richard Edward Burton, Jr. (Richie), age 41, our most beloved son, brother, father, uncle, family member and friend peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019.
A graduate of Rochester Area High School, Richie was a member of the 1992 WPIAL football championship team. And was a standout shooting guard on the 1994, 1995 basketball teams, leading the Rams to the playoffs two consecutive years. Thereafter, he attended Cheney University.
Those who knew Richie, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives. His cheerful spirit and endearing grin lit up a room. He leaves us smiling through the tears. Richie will forever be remembered for his gentle ways and kindness toward others. He had a profound love for his family, and cherished time spent together. Notwithstanding his God given gift of showing compassion to others, deep inside he was challenged by addiction. Bravely, Richie took the steps necessary to overcome his dependency by successfully completing a rehabilitation program and was residing in a recovery home; where he continued to work on his sobriety until his sudden death.
Treasured and adored, Richie will be missed everyday by his Father, Richard Edward Burton, Sr., Mother, Rosemary Burton, Sisters, Ondréa Burton and Jennifer Allen, Brother, Chaz Parham, Son, Aaron Barlow, Neice, Avani Burton, and his loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and many, many great friends.
We LOVE and MISS you so much. Rest your beautiful soul. Welcoming you with open, loving wings, enjoy reuniting with Pap Pap and Grandma, Aunties, Uncles and Cousins, knowing that the joy and laugher you brought will live on. You’re loved here on earth as well as in heaven. Be at peace, and keep smiling, sweetheart. Richie will be laid to rest in the Sewickley Cemetery.
