Charles M. Dawson Jr. 91, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, January 10, 2020 (in his home) surrounded by family. On September 20, 1928 God blessed the late Charles and Mary Dawson with an Angel.

Charles lived in Beaver Falls, Pa for 83 years, retiring in 1991from Armstrong World Industries after 42 years of service. Charles loved to dress and earned the title “THE BEST DRESSED MAN IN BEAVER COUNTY” ~ he put the S.W.A.G. in swag. Charles was a 1947 graduate of Beaver Falls Senior High School and was known by his class mates as “WILD ROOT CHARLEY”.

He had a passion for bowling and played with the 1st all black bowling team, “The Tru-Shots” and traveled for tournaments through-out the United States. In addition to bowling, he also enjoyed playing softball, pool and horseshoe’s. He was a generous man putting others needs above his own. Charles was a role model father with a great sense of humor. He was affectionately known as Jr, Uncle Jr, Chuck and Grandpap. In 2011 he moved to Texas with his daughter Traci and son-in-law Thomas Allen Sr. Our father, Charles will be truly missed by all whom knew him.

Charles Jr. was greeted in Heaven by his father Charles Dawson Sr., Mother: Mary F. Dawson, Son: Charles Dawson III, Brothers: James, John, Thomas, Wilbur, Harold and Floyd Alexander. Sisters: Margarete Alexander, Mandy Lindsay, Dorothy Creach, Ruth Harris, Elizabeth Redden, Catherine Alexander, Josephine Wallace, Grandsons: Cory Jerrell Brooks, Thomas Allen Jr. and Anthony Mason.

He leaves to cherish his memory of 72 years, his wife Jean Dawson, Daughters: Sherry (Annie) Brooks and Traci (Thomas Sr.) Allen. Grandchildren: Crystle (Darnell) Flowers, Robyn Chatman, Corey Joe Brooks, Tnisha Chatman, Autumne Dawson, Lakisha Allen, and Laresa Williams. 13 Great Grandchildren and 12 Great-Great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at 11:00 am until the time of the service at 12 pm., Rev. Bobby V. Wilson will officiate; services will be held at the Washington Funeral Home & Cremation LLC, 1415 6th Avenue Beaver Falls, PA, 15010.
