John Melvin “Honey” James

John Melvin James, affectionally known as “Honey” by family and friends, was the third oldest son born to the late Louis and Lillian James on January 5th, 1930. John grew up in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania and was educated through the Big Beaver Falls School District.

After leaving his hometown, John moved to Pittsburgh where he was a long-time employee of the Greyhound Transportation Company. After many years of working, John spent his free time riding Pittsburgh Port Authority buses all over Pittsburgh and visiting his favorite McDonald’s in downtown Pittsburgh. John was known and loved by many. He was a very kind and gentle soul who enjoyed Hershey Kisses and oranges.

John was preceded in death by his sisters, Jane Covington (Bob), Ruth Griswold (Sam), Marie James, and Mary James and brothers, Joe James, Charles James, Robert “Skippy” James, and William James: his niece Sarah “Snookie” Newman; and his nephews, Sam “Buzzy” Griswold, Jr. and Terrence James.

On Wednesday, April 20th, 2022, at age 92, John went home to be with His Lord and Savior and left to mourn his passing are his brothers, Louis James “Jr.”, George “Tookie” James (Regina) and Harry James; nieces, Beverly James “Bunny”, Kimberly Harriel-Allen, Pamela Griffin, Alesa Carr, Alexis Steals, and Alaina James; nephews, Ron “Po” James, Louis “Ricky” James, and William “Billy” James. John’s great-nieces and great-nephews will also miss him dearly.

A very special thank you Marie’s daughters: Pam and Kim for the loving care they extended to their “Uncle Honey” over the years.

A service for John James will be held on Wednesday, April 27th, 2022 at Washington Funeral Home, 1415 Sixth Avenue, Beaver Falls. Family and friends will be received at 10:00 am, followed by a service at 11:00 am.

Rose Cleckley

Rose Cleckley, 59, of Beaver Falls, passed away on April 10, 2022, after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness.
Born April 15, 1962 in Canton, OH, she was the daughter of Joseph M. and Rose Cleckley Sr.

Rosie was a free spirit with a giving heart. She loved to travel, go shopping, had a good ear for music, and enjoyed playing Bingo. Most of all, Rosie loved her family, and was a cherished friend to many. She was a blessing to all who knew her well, and will be truly treasured forever.

Rose leaves to mourn her passing, her daughter, Alana Cleckley, of Beaver Falls; two sons, Andrew Cleckley, of Freemont Ohio and Travelous Hairston Jr., all of Beaver Falls; three brothers, Joseph Cleckley Jr., Martin Cleckley, Sr., and Dwayne Cleckley, of all of Beaver Falls; two sisters, Daisy Allen-Jones, Portage, MI and Marian Justice, of Georgia; grandchildren, Ni’ere, Ambition, and Tayvis Hairston, Shileak Livingston, Amaya Sims, Dakiyah and Nakira Turner, Giana Ward, Kamariah Singleton and Kellen Job, all of Beaver Falls, Tristan West, Aliquippa, Gio Burks, Rochester, Adyana and Camella Cleckley, both of Fremont, OH and Gabryella Gutherie, Florida; two aunts, Dolly Lee Walker, New Castle; and Ethel White, Beaver Falls; two uncles, Charles Milton and Larry Milton, Columbus GA; close cousins, Carolyn Glover, Laderious, Shirley A., and Stephanie Cleckley, and Pauletta Cleckley Vaughn; a son-in-law, Marcellus Currence; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to her father and mother, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Travinia Rochelle Hairston; a son, Mark Anthony Cleckley; three brothers, Freddy, Paul and Curtis Cleckley; and a sister, Diane Cleckley.

Friends will be received on Saturday, April 23, from 11 AM to 1 PM, at Washington Funeral Home & Cremation, 1411 6th Avenue, Beaver Falls, for visitation and a Homegoing Service to immediately follow. Pastor Bobby Wilson officiating.

James Kenzie Bullard Sr.

James Kenzie Bullard, Sr., 93, formerly of New Brighton went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 14, 2022, in Villa St. Joseph in Baden. PA. He was born in Elba, Al on November 10, 1928, to the late Will and Gussie Daniels Bullard.

James was employed as a laborer at Armstrong Labor Industries

He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Rochester, PA. In his leisure time, he enjoyed watching old movies and Family Feud.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

James will be sadly missed by his sons; James (Yuka) Bullard of Biloxi, MI, and William Bullard of Pittsburgh, PA; two daughters, Allice Bullard Hill of Ocala, FL, and Cheryl Bullard Cook of Pittsburgh PA; a sister, Willie Elma McBride of Beaver Falls, Pa; 9 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 Am at Second Baptist Church, 200 Clay Street, Rochester, PA. The Homegoing Celebration will start at 11:00 AM.

Interment will be in Sylvania Hills Cemetery.

Stephen “Butch” Charles Williams III

“Stephen Charles Williams III, 65, of Beaver Falls, PA, transitioned peacefully in the comfort of his home in New Castle, PA, on Thursday, April 7, 2022.

Stephen was born on November 25, 1956, in East Liverpool Ohio, to Anna Elizabeth Williams and Stephen Charles Williams II. He was a student at Beaver Falls High School and worked for many years in his own car detailing business.

Stephen, affectionately known as “Butch” or “Butchie-Steve,” was an avid traveler, a world-class Air Drummer, and the life-of-the-party in any room he entered. He was a go-getter with an electric spirit that would, in his words, “Kill a brick, choke a stick, and drown a glass of water” to provide for his family. His joyous, incomparable spirit will be missed by many.

He is preceded in death by both parents, one daughter, Atalaya Williams; two siblings, Emily Joyce Smith and Daryl Williams; and one special niece, Robin Hill Owens.

He is survived by his ex-wife, Victoria Kirkland; his children, Maurice (Lori) Harris, Ashton Williams, Kyleigh Williams, Jalaya Williams, and one additional daughter; two step-children, Patrisha Lee-Rodrigguez, and Jordan Kirkland; nine grandchildren, Nevaeh Harris, Maurice Harris II (Moe Moe,) Keenan Harris, Di’Nari Harris, Ahmari Williams, Quazamir Lee, Jordan Kirkland II, Jospeh Kirkland, and Nathaniel Kirkland; three siblings, Richard Williams, Candace Davis-Williams, and Toni Foster; a devoted friend, Laura Dale; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A viewing honoring his life will be held from 2pm-4pm on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at Washington Funeral Home, 1411 6th Avenue, Beaver Falls, PA 15010. A funeral service will follow for family and close friends.”
