Dawn “Robin” Denise Hill

Dawn “Robin” Denise Hill, 60, of Beaver Falls, Pa., danced her way into Heavens Gates on Tuesday, February 22, 2022. On March 5, 1961, Robin was born in Pittsburgh, Pa, to the late Emily Joyce Smith and Robert Owens Sr.

Robin was a graduate of Point Park College, with an Associate’s degree in Business Administration. She was a loyal employee of Arco Chemical, where she worked for many years. Robin had great joy and fondness for fashion. She was considerate and generous in heart and spirit. Always kind-hearted and compassionate toward others. Robin was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents Robin was preceded in death by Stepfather Eugene Smith and her brother Derek Williams

Robin is survived by her two loving daughters: Tasha and Tiffani Hill of New Brighton. Grandchildren: Jada and Gary “Peedie” Pugh, Kevin, Kane, and Kyenn Williams. Brother: Robert “BAM” Owens, Jr of Pittsburgh, Pa. Sisters: Chanda Owens of Florida and Helen “ Pebbles” Owens of Pittsburgh, Pa and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A viewing will be on Monday, February 28, 2022, from 5pm- 7pm. Service will be on Tuesday March, 1, 2022 from 11am until 12pm followed by a Homegoing service. Services entrusted to Washington Funeral Home & Cremations, 1411 6th Avenue, Beaver Falls, PA; Regina Washington Supervisor.

Corey Stephen Mabin

Corey Stephen Mabin, 51 of New Brighton went home to be with the Lord on February 15, 2022, at Heritage Valley Medical Center in Beaver, PA.
Corey was born on February 20, 1970, and was the son of the late Neil & Virginia Mabin.

Corey’s heart was as big as his charismatic personality… His number one talent and hobby was being one of Beaver Valley’s best old-school, hip-hop & rap DJs. His number one goal in life was to be the best version of himself, despite many health-related challenges in his later years. Corey was an excellent father, trustworthy friend, and inspirational brother… He will be deeply missed and remembered daily by those whose lives he touched.

He is survived by his two sons, Logan Kyle Mabin & Jaden John Mabin, his older brother Kyle A. Mabin, his two sisters, Stephanie Tisdale & Velentia Pipkin, and a host of other Mabin/Parham relatives and friends. Interment will be in the Beaver Falls Cemetery & Memorial Park, 2045 Darlington Rd, Beaver Falls, PA 15010.

Corey will be honored at his Memorial Service to be held on Sunday, February 27, 2022, from 11:30 am to 12:30
pm followed by a homegoing service at the Washington Funeral Home & Cremations, 1411 Sixth Avenue, in Beaver Falls, PA.

Christine Slappy

On January 30, 2022, Christine Slappy, age 79, peacefully went through the gates of heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Christine was the daughter of the late Lee Roy and Thelma Slappy. She was a lifelong resident of Midland, PA.

Christine was the mother of one child, and she will be sorely missed by her daughter, Racquel. She was a member of The Father’s House, Rochester, PA. And after 25 years of service she retired from Crucible Steel, Midland, PA. She was an avid shopper and she loved fashion. She loved to sing and listen to Gospel Music. Christine was part of a singing group called “The Slappy Sisters,” many years ago. A special thanks to her devoted great niece Diana Ross who visited her often and helped to care for her.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Racquel and her son-in-law Monnie whom she loved as a son; her two grandchildren, Zachary and Sydney who were the apples of her eye; Brothers, John Thomas (JT) Slappy; and James (Phyllis) Slappy of Midland, PA; and Donald Slappy of Rochester, PA; Sisters, Eva (Carl) Leak of Midland, PA; Carolyn Harris of Beaver Falls, PA; Rev. Mary Burton of Baden, PA, Paula (Nathaniel) Waldron, Monaca, PA.
She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and The Father’s House church family.

Christine was preceded in death by her siblings, Thelma Perkins, Lee Roy Slappy, the twins John and Joe Slappy, Paul Slappy, Shirley Dorsett-Pogue, Larry Slappy, Becky Bell, and Roger Slappy. “…in His favor is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning!” Psalm 30:5

A Homegoing Service will be held in her honor on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at The Father’s House, 310 Clay Street, Rochester, PA. Viewing will be from 10 am – 12 Noon with the Home Going service starting at 12 Noon. Services are entrusted to Washington Funeral Home, Beaver Falls, PA, Regina Washington, Funeral Supervisor.

Raymond Warren Nesmith

Raymond Nesmith 96, of Beaver Falls, PA went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 30, 2022. He was born in South Carolina, June 10, 1925. He was a member of Mount Washington Church of God, where he served as a Deacon 45 years. He then relocated to South Carolina where he became a member of Methodist African Episcopal Church, and was awarded the Certificate of Appreciation. Upon his return home to Beaver Falls, he attended Waymen Chapel in New Brighton, where he was awarded Marie King Parrish Missionary Society Award.

Raymond was employed at the Brick Yard during the 1960’s. Then he moved on to work for Conrail, Baden, PA where he retired in 1991. He loved to visit with the sick and shut in at the hospital and in their homes. Raymond enjoyed eating chicken, fishing, and sitting on the porch. He always looked forward to having his family and grandchildren. Our family will miss our beloved father deeply. We thank God for his strong leadership in the family and his God Living lifestyle.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Lucille Nesmith, and his second wife Ethel Nesmith of South Carolina. Also, preceded in death his daughter, Bertha McDowell of Philadelphia, PA, Orea-Ann Cook, of Beaver Falls, and daughter in-law Pearl Nesmith. Special thanks to the Hospice Care staff, Roddy Schwartz and Courtney Small for their loving care of our father.

He is survived by his beloved children; Minnie Williams, Reon (Catherine) Nesmith Sr; Beaver Falls, PA. Martha Nesmith of Pittsburgh, PA., Lucille Nesmith, Mary “Debbie” Nesmith, Beaver Falls, PA.; Donald (Michelle) Nesmith of New Brighton, PA., Donna Nesmith, Elaine (Charlie) Nesmith, of Beaver Falls, PA. Stepchildren: Lavada Nesmith, Kenneth McCray and Carl McCray all of South Carolina. Raymond has nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. His family friend – Cindy Riggins, as well as his best friend Pastor Clinton Beauford.

Friends will be received on Friday, February, 4, 2022 from 10am until 12pm; followed by a Homegoing Celebration at Christ Temple Church of God 2420 9th Avenue, Beaver Falls, PA. Service entrusted to Washington Funeral Home & Cremations, 1411 6th Avenue, Beaver Falls, PA. Regina Washington Supervisor.
