Ellese “Jackson” Morris

On November 15, 2019 Ellese “Jackson” Morris, 58 of Aliquippa, Pa passed away peacefully surrounded by family in the Brighton Rehabilitation Wellness Center, Beaver, PA. Ellese was born December 22, 1960 in Aliquippa, PA to the late Andrew J. Jackson and Willa E. “Hale” Jackson.

Ellese recently accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior; she got baptized and became a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Aliquippa, PA. Ellese attended Aliquippa High School and was an avid Aliquippa and Steeler Fan. The day after Ellese passed, her son Vaughn (Aliquippa’s Quarterback) played in the Aliquippa Championship game at the Heinz Field Stadium (Aliquippa vs. Central Valley) in honor of his mother. We know she sat on a cloud with her wings spread high saying; “Do you and what you do best; know that I love you and I’m always here for you; just look to the Heavens!!” She LOVED her family and friends. She was known for her kind and giving heart. Her home was your home; she would always welcome you with a hug and a smile regardless of her circumstances; she was truly the definition of an amazing friend. She will forever be LOVED and missed by all whom knew her.

In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her brothers: Allan J. Cobb and Joe Walker. Sister: Rhonda Walker.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Sons: Anthony Jackson, Dorian Jackson and Vaughn Morris. Grandchildren: Arian and Anthony Jackson II. Mother: Willa E. Jackson. Brothers: Andrew D. Jackson, and Mark Walker. Sisters: Joyce Jackson, Paulette Jones, Robbin Walker and Kimberly Walker. Aunts: Caroline Jackson and Madelyn Denson. Uncle: Reginald O Foster. Special Niece: Kenyatte Sublett. Nephews: Alonzo Jackson and Andrew Benny Jackson. Devoted Friends: Yvette Baldwin, Calvin Baldwin, Tracey Marshman, Jequita Hill, Dana Luton, Arthur Hayes, Kim Palmer and a host of other family and friends.

Family and friends will be received for a viewing on Friday November 22, 2019, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm and Saturday, November 23, 2019 from 10:00am to 11:00 am with a Home Going Service immediately following the viewing at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church Iron Street, Aliquippa, Pa. Reverend Richard Jackson, Officiating.

Jean “Cockfield” Rawl

On November 12, 2019 Jean Cockfield Rawl of New Brighton, Pa transitioned to her heavenly home. She was born August 31, 1927 in Beaver Falls, PA to the late Henry Harrison and Ruth (Grimsley) Cockfield.

Jean was a graduate of Beaver Falls High School and was an avid reader, card player, enjoyed traveling and loved spending time with her family. She was employed at various retail stores in the Beaver County area before retiring from Kaufman’s Department Store.
As a Former member of Waymen Chapel AME she served as a Sunday School Teacher, a member of the Usher Board and Senior Choir.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband MSGT Glayborne Rawl, USAF; brothers: Henry, Robert, Charles, Horace and Donald. Sisters: Mary Burns, Doris Butler, Elizabeth Brown, Carrie Belle Guilford and Joan Tyson.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Daughters: Judith Barr Bell of New Brighton, and Jeri (Robert) Waldron of Beaver Falls. Son: John Barr of New Brighton. Grandchildren: Eric (Khadijah) Bell, of Atlanta GA, Larry Bell, Pittsburgh, PA Ryann Waldron, Beaver Falls, PA Nicole Bell, Pittsburgh, PA Spencer (RaShonda) Waldron, Beaver Falls, Pa and Jazmine Turk, Pittsburgh, Pa. 21 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great-great grandchildren and a host of loving family and friends.

Interment will take place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.

Family and friends will be received for a viewing from 10:00am to 11:00am on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Holy Spirit Fellowship Church 1101 6th Street, New Brighton, PA with a Home Going Service immediately following.

Avis Curenton

Our beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, God looked down upon earth and saw her tired face, He put his arms around her and lifted, Avis Ever (Springs) Curenton 64 of Beaver Falls, PA, to rest on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at Heritage Valley Beaver. Avis was born September 20, 1955, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Willie A. Springs and the late Henrietta E (Freeman) Springs.

Avis worked for Columbia Gas for 30 years in the Working Funds Department. She also worked for Beaver County Head start for 6 years as Data Operator. She was the First Vice President of the NAACP in the 1990’s. She was a member of the Mahogany United Women’s Club and member and volunteer at Wayman Chapel Church, New Brighton, PA.

In addition to her mother she is preceded in death by her Aunt Mary (Freeman) Thomas.

Surviving are her loving husband James (Skeet) Curenton, daughter Nicole (James) Burton Rochester, PA; Justin (Somia) Curenton Beaver Falls, PA; Brothers Lamont (Renita) Johnson, Tennessee; and Rory (Angie) Springs, North Carolina; Sisters: Wanda Leak, Virginia; Robin (Paul) Goosby, Beaver Falls, PA; Reba Thomas Beaver Falls, PA; Grandchildren: Loay Curenton, Beaver Falls, PA, Remington Burton, Rochester, PA; Godson: Rory Thomas, Philadelphia PA, Special Friends: Michelle Lane, Jeanne Bell, Valerie McElvy, Ashley Blocker, and Sandra Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. For part of us went with you the day God called you home.

Friends will be received on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 1 pm, Rev. Bobby V. Wilson will officiate; services will be held at the Washington Funeral Home & Cremation LLC, 1415 6th Avenue Beaver Falls, PA, 15010.
